ProSeries has simplified the process of attaching PDFs to a return and selecting federal and states products for e-file. In addition, ProSeries has increased security by masking sensitive information in your client’s tax returns. See below for more information on the new features. PDF Attachments There are two new ways to attach a PDF file in business products: #1: Directly from the field requiring a PDF be attached: Right click on the desired field that contains the PDF attachment alert. In the pop-up menu, select “Attach PDF File to Field …” From file selection screen, select “Add Attachment” and use the browse button to locate the PDF. Assign PDF field in the “Type” field. Select “OK” to attach PDFs to the return. #2: Using the File Menu: From the “E-File” menu, select “Attach PDF File to Field…” From file selection screen, select “Add Attachment” and use the browse button to locate the PDF. Assign PDF field in the “Type” field. Select “OK” to attach PDFs to the return. EF Selection The Corporate and Partnership Federal Information Worksheets have been simplified to provide a streamlined process of selecting federal and state products for e-file, including initial returns, first amended returns, extension and estimates. In addition, the new format provides a summary of which returns are supported in our products or by the agency. Security Masking In an effort to protect a client’s sensitive information, a new security feature has been introduced. The new security feature identifies fields that have sensitive information and displays the information with asterisks: Additional features added to ProSeries 2016 include: Fiduciary states added: Nebraska and Oregon E-file: 1040NR and Vermont Individual Amend New content: California Corporation Form 199 and Alabama NOL Increased speed for data conversion Trusted customer login at launch: 30-minute timeout, strong passwords and 24-hour re-authorization New training portal New My Account experience New client analyzer queries for 1040 New facsmile inputs: 1099K and input guidance for 5498SA Year-over-year opt-in experience for Pay-by-Refund and Audit Assistance Want to learn more about ProConnect ProSeries?
