Picciurro, CPA/PFS, MBA, ARA, owns Integrated CPA Group, a firm offering tax preparation and tax planning strategies for real estate investors, self-employed professionals, W-2 employees, and families. Chris also heads up Teaching Tax Flow and the MRR Institute. He is a former member of the Intuit® Tax Council. Scott Cytron: Tell me about your practice. Chris Picciurro: We focus on partnering with clients to implement positive financial decisions. Our ideal clients are entrepreneurs with up to 100 employees, real estate industry professionals and investors, and highly taxed households. We almost exclusively use a subscription-based model that focuses on client relationship development. SC: What kind of Intuit® software do you use? CP: We use Intuit ProConnect™ Tax and QuickBooks® Online Accountant. SC What are your goals for your practice this year? CP: We want to continue providing a positive work environment and work-life balance for our team. SC: How can tax professionals keep up with all the changes in tax laws and regulations? CP: As a tax professional, I think it is almost impossible to keep up with every tax law change and regulation, so I focus on reading every publication or magazine possible, along with subscribing to various continuing education providers and social media accounts. This enables me to enroll in CPE courses that help me serve our clients. I also feel it is important to be involved with CPA peer groups. SC: What was your very first job? CP: I was a Detroit News paperboy back in the day when newspapers were delivered by hand via bike. SC: Who is your favorite author? CP: Robert Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” because he has completely transformed the way millions of people think about finances. SC: If you were stranded on a desert island with access to just one kind of technology, what would it be and why would you want it? CP: A telephone with location services so I can be found! SC: Thanks, Chris. Previous Post The strategic edge of niche specialization Next Post ProSeries® Tax spotlight: David Davis, CPA Written by Scott Cytron Scott H.
